On Friday evening, November 16, 2018, Corvus (the contemporary ensemble of the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival) presented the world premieres of seven new pieces, written by the participants of the 2018 Arctic Adventure. This concert, honoring the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, took place in the stunning rotunda of Federal Hall National Memorial in Manhattan.

The seven composers spent an adventurous week canoeing the North Fork of the Koyukuk River in Gates of the Arctic National Park, and their new compositions were all inspired by that immersive experience.

The composers were in attendance at the event, along with the Superintendent of Gates of the Arctic National Park.

It was a unique evening that blended wilderness, contemporary music, and American history. The event was free and open to the public.
